Sociis Education

Our Story

At Sociis Education, we are committed to restoring and strengthening the profession of education. Too often, the best and brightest leave the field—burned out, unsupported, or placed in leadership roles without the mentorship they deserve. Anyone who has lived this work knows the journey isn’t easy. Many think about giving up, yet stay because they feel called to teach, lead, and change lives. But it shouldn’t have to be this hard.

Founded by lifelong educators Chad McLeod and Emily Cotton, Sociis Education was created from a simple truth: having someone in your corner makes all the difference. Sociis is Latin for “partner” or “ally,” and our name reflects exactly what we aim to be. We understand the realities of education today—whether at the kitchen table or in a public school classroom—and we know that teachers and leaders thrive when they feel supported, valued, and empowered to lead from their strengths.

Support should be simple, yet those in the profession know how rare it can be. Professional development is often “sit-and-get,” with little follow-through or relationship. Sociis exists to change that—to walk alongside you, shoulder to shoulder, in real work and real growth.

Our mission is clear: to help great teachers and leaders stay, thrive, grow, and leave a lasting legacy. We do this through the Educator Influence Model, grounded in years of research, lived experience, and lessons learned from both our successes and failures. Through mentorship, coaching, and partnership, we help reignite passion, strengthen persistence, and clarify purpose so educators can lead with confidence and conviction.

Whether you are a young professional exploring teaching as a meaningful career path or a seasoned educator navigating new challenges, we want you to know this:

When you step into the field, you won’t walk alone.

We are Sociis—your partner in the work.

Sociis: Igniting a Movement to Rekindle Passion for Teaching

Sociis (pronounced SOH-key-ees) comes from the Latin word meaning "allies" or "partners." It represents collaboration, support, and shared purpose—values central to our mission of inspiring educators and strengthening schools. At Sociis Education, we are committed to walking alongside teachers and school leaders, ensuring they have the support and encouragement to thrive.

Our Mission

At Sociis Education, we partner with schools and districts to build on what’s already strong, so that teachers stay, leaders thrive, and momentum grows. We invest in people first, knowing that strong relationships drive lasting cultural and academic growth.. We don’t disrupt systems or add new initiatives—we deepen people and craft. Sociis Education isn’t a program to roll out or evaluate; we’re a partner in growth. We meet educators and leaders where they are and help them get to the next level.

Whether you’re a district on the rise or a school trying to regain its footing, we amplify what’s good, fortify what’s fragile, and awaken what’s possible to make sure momentum continues. The heart of our approach reaches far beyond school structures and classroom routines—it is a living, breathing legacy.

We call this the Educator Influence Model. When educators invest in their roots, protect their passion, and persist through every season, their tree grows strong. And as it grows, it shelters others—nurturing a vibrant, connected learning community.
